Overview

Rising to 7,861 meters, Nuptse is the 26th highest mountain in the world and one of the most technically demanding peaks in the Himalayas. Its name translates to "Peak of the West" in Tibetan, reflecting its location southwest of Mount Everest at the head of Nepal's legendary Khumbu Valley.

Connected to Lhotse by a dramatic 5-kilometer ridge, Nuptse forms part of the iconic horseshoe-shaped massif surrounding the Khumbu Glacier. Its towering walls, steep ridges, and challenging terrain have made it a coveted objective for experienced climbers seeking a true Himalayan adventure beyond the commercial routes.

First climbed in 1961 by Dennis Davis and Tashi Sherpa via the North Ridge, Nuptse remains a mountain of mystery and prestige. The expedition combines high-altitude mountaineering with a classic trek through the heart of the Khumbu region, passing traditional Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.

From the bustling streets of Kathmandu to the remote beauty of Everest Base Camp, the Nuptse Expedition offers an unforgettable journey for skilled climbers ready to test their limits on one of the world's most challenging peaks.
